OBERMEYER prepares BIM manual for Germany

The joint venture developed the handbook on the basis of an analysis of the existing international BIM guidelines and the many years of experience of the authors as well as the assistance of a technical panel consisting of experts from various companies and institutions.
The BIM manual is aimed at interested parties and users who would like to familiarize themselves with the new working methods, affording an initial treatment of the BIM topic in terms of the German frame conditions.

In doing so, it takes account of the claims of all parties involved - from planning office through building contractor to the public sector.

In detail the handbook imparts insights into how to deal with building models, their degrees of completion and the model elements they contain.

In addition it provides information about specific applications such as consistent plan generation, model-based quantity takeoff as well as visualization and interference checking.

The central advantages of the BIM model are the quality, up-to-dateness and sustainability in project information, which can be evaluated at all times.

This therefore ensures the security of cost control and time scheduling as well as sustainability in project execution.

The emphasis is placed not only on large-scale projects, but also the small and medium-sized enterprises which are typical for Germany and their projects.

The BIM guideline can be downloaded as a cost-free PDF file under w.
