First price for urban design of Chansha West Railway City

OBERMEYER has won the first prize in the international competition for the urban design of Changsha West Railway City. Changsha is the capital of the southern Chinese province of Hunan. The Obermeyer design integrates ecologically a well-connected transportation hub with a diversified life style destination in the west of Changsha.


OBERMEYER certified as BIM Instructor

buildingSMART e.V. and the Association of German Engineers e.V. (Verein Deutscher Ingenieure - VDI) have jointly developed a certificate to ensure the quality and relevance of the BIM basic courses offered by further education institutions. The first 14 companies and organisations, including OBERMEYER, have now been certified.


INFRABIM: first Phase oh the "Digital Planning and Construction" phase plan completed

In 2015 the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) published the three-part phased plan "Digital Planning and Construction". The scientific monitoring of the first stage by the JV "INFRABIM" is now officially completed with the publication of the recommendations for action.


"HEIMATVERBUNDEN" Installation honoured at Iconic Awards 2018

In 2017 OBERMEYER architects conceived a "Close ties to home" ("Heimatverbunden") installation for the "Ampelphase", an exhibition organized by the designer furniture manufacturer Vitra. In 2018 they succeeded in winning the title "Innovative Architecture - Selection" with this work at the ICONIC AWARDS.


Construction measures at the Mittlerer Ring Südwest completed

The construction measures at the Mittlerer Ring Südwest have been finalized.  With the completion of the surface area configuration the Munich mammoth project has come to a close after a construction period of nine years. From the outset OBERMEYER was responsible for the construction supervision together with Vössing Ingenieurgesellschaft.


Urban-regional railway in Nuremberg conurbation

At the end of June 2018 the planning contract was signed for the Urban-Regional Railway (StUB), which is intended to connect Nuremberg, Erlangen and Herzogenaurach in future. OBERMEYER, as member of an engineering association, has been commissioned with the planning.

OBERMEYER wins architectural competition for prison in Rottweil

In recent years the occupancy rate in penal institutions in Baden-Württemberg has become increasingly overstretched. A new, multifunctional prison with 500 places has proved indispensable. To this end the Land Baden-Württemberg launched a Europe-wide two-phase, open realisation competition, which OBERMEYER was able to win by a clear margin.


5D Modelling of the Offenburg Tunnel

Following the conventional planning order in January 2017, OBERMEYER has also received an order from Deutsche Bahn for the basic determination and preliminary planning of the BIM pilot project "Offenburg tunnel".


OBERMEYER wins architectural competition at the University Erfurt

In an open planning competition for the new research centre "World Relations" at the University of Erfurt, OBERMEYER managed to prevail against almost 50 competitors with a conceptually oriented design approach.


The Munich trade fair is complete

Since the summer of 2016 two new exhibition halls and one conference zone have been evolving in the north-east part of the trade fair centre in Riem.  In perfect time for the IFAT 2018 the halls are now going into operation according to schedule.


Concept Design for new underground city in Chongqing

Chongqing is a megacity in central China. Chongqing Liangjiang Central Business District (CBD) is to be developed here. OBERMEYER has been commissioned with the concept design of the new underground city.

BIM4Rail: OBERMEYER monitoring 13 BIM pilot projects for DB

The three-stage introduction of digital planning and construction in Germany adopted by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) is entering the third and thus last round.  OBERMEYER was retained to scientifically monitor this stage too.

OBERMEYER planning extension of Potsdam tram network

The Potsdam tram network is being extended to the north. Following the Europe-wide tender for the almost seven kilometer long new line OBERMEYER Dresden and Ramboll were awarded the contract.
