Installation "Heimatverbunden" wins German Interior Design Prize 2019

Every four years the bdia - bund deutscher innenarchitekten e.V. awards the German Interior Design Prize (DIAP) to the best realized interior design projects. This is the ninth time that bdia has honoured innovative projects that have been conceived, designed and implemented in an exemplary manner. With the installation "Heimatverbunden" OBERMEYER is one of this year's winners.

The German Interior Design Award is the only award in Germany which is exclusively dedicated to the quality of interior design. The award ceremony took place on 27 September at the German Architects' Day in the bcc Congress Center in Berlin.
OBERMEYER submitted two projects this year. One of them, the "Heimatverbunden" installation, was selected by the jury from over 110 submissions. A total of 27 projects received awards. These projects are documented in the book "deutscher innenarchitektur preis 2019", which is now available at Callwey Verlag. You can order it here.

The jury consisted of Vera Schmitz, president of bdia, Christine Degenhart, president of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects, Bettina Kratz, bdia interior designer, kplus konzept (1st prize winner DIAP 2014), Reiner Nagel, chairman of the board of the Bundesstiftung Baukultur and Prof. Jens Wendland, bdia interior designer, raumkontor.

The installation "Heimatverbunden" had already been designed in 2017 by a team of OBERMEYER architects for exhibition "Ampelphase" by the design furniture manufacturer Vitra in the Frankfurt showroom. Last year, the installation was awarded the "Innovative Architecture" prize at the Iconic Awards.
