Matthias Braun confirmed as presidium member of buildingSMART Germany

On 23 October buildingSMART Deutschland e.V. organized its 23rd forum in Berlin. The presidium elections already took place the day before. Matthias Braun, Managing Director at OBERMEYER, will again represent the "planning" division.

The Berlin-based association buildingSMART Deutschland is part of buildingSMART International, a network dedicated entirely to the digitalization of the construction and real estate industries which focuses on Building Information Modeling (BIM). The initiative was launched in 1994. OBERMEYER is one of the founding members. buildingSMART Germany has 540 members (October 2018: 440); the vast majority is represented by companies from the entire value chain of digital design, construction and operation.

The annual membership meeting of buildingSMART Deutschland took place in Berlin on 22 October. There a new presidium was elected. Due to the strong growth the statutes have been modernized. Because of that the presidium comprises for the first time 14 seats which represent the seven member categories. It is equally structured and reflects the entire spectrum of buildingSMART. The members were initially elected for a term of two years.

In the course of the elections, the following divisions were each occupied by two persons: planning, construction, suppliers, owners and operators, software, training and research as well as other service providers. Matthias Braun, Managing Director Buildings and Central Functions at OBERMEYER Planen + Beraten, was first elected in 2016 to a four-member presidium for the "planning" division for which he was re-elected now for a further two years.
